The global coronavirus outbreak has created an increasing number of challenges to our industry. We realize that in this unique situation we find ourselves in now, it is critical that we make it possible for the companies and individuals that rely on us to be able to continue their operations or progress professionally to help each of them to respond to the unique demands that they may be facing. The Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) has been working to uphold the commitments we made to supporting our industry.

In our effort to continue to enhance candidates’ examination experience, we have been working on virtual examinations since late 2019 and the launch was accelerated due to the health and safety concerns we are faced with currently.

The introduction of virtual examinations in April 2020 for life insurance agents’ examinations and in June for general insurance agents’ examinations allows candidates to take MII examinations anytime, anywhere and virtual examinations are here to stay even when the dust settles on the pandemic. Our work is not done as we are working to improve the user experience and capacity for virtual examinations by leveraging the latest technology in examination proctoring and candidate verification in the coming months.

In late May, MII enhanced the process of registration for the agents’ examination to allow for Self-Registration effective 1st June 2020 via our Integrated Learning Management System (iLMS) for MII CBE (Computer-based Examination) and VCBE for the following Agents’ Examination routes:

  1. Pre-Contract Examination for Insurance Agents (PCEIA)
(Route – Life – AC and CO / General – AB and BO)
  2. Certificate Examination in Investment-Linked Life Insurance (CEILLI)
  3. Pre-Contract for Life Insurance Agents and Investment-Linked Life Insurance Examination (PCIL)

To self-register for an examination, log onto www.mii4u.org.

Pleased to inform that we have also offer our other examinations on CBE and/or VCBE mode as per the following table:

The candidates who choose to register for VCBE, are required to meet the VCBE technical requirements. Please click here to see the details of the technical requirement.

The virtual examinations which are convenient and a safe option now will complement our examinations conducted at our centres as we recognize that some candidates do face challenges in terms of having a computer and strong internet connection. In view of this, we have worked with independent centres to open examination centres in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Johor Bahru and Penang in Phase 1 of reopening our services. Please click here to see the details of our examination centres.
