We recognise our staff as our most important resource and are committed to consistently upgrade their competencies and skills
through training and development in order to meet our transformation goals and be future ready. In an effort to inculcate a
learning culture and agility in MII, we focused on promoting personal, digital, leadership skills and professional development
to fulfil our common goal to have the right mindset and skillset to succeed.
In 2021, the effects of the pandemic continued to loom large. Learning from our experience in 2020, we had pivoted quickly to
operate remotely during the pandemic and to continuosly adapt to changing circumstances.
We believe in the need for a change in culture which includes long term on-the-job learning opportunities for all levels of
staff, that encourages and rewards collaboration, innovation and team learning. Among the initiatives include cross-functional
projects, attending conferences, seminars, forums, and online learning courses.
To emerge stronger as a team, MII continued its upskilling and reskilling initiatives in 2021. Our objective is to ensure relevant and adequate training programmes are offered to staff to further strengthen and expand their knowledge and skills. These development programmes are crucial in ensuring that we are aligned with the mandate entrusted to us as a professional body and an education centre for the insurance industry.
