Typhoons, Floods and Covid Lockdowns. If we use Bursa Malaysia’s soft opening this week as an indicator of how businesses are viewing 2022, we have a while yet before we are headed towards a common direction. 2021 has been a messy year to say the least and disaster after disaster in the region seems to have spilled over to the new year.

If Albert Einstein's words “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”, be a beacon the business and tech community can focus on, what should we rally towards? What are the opportunities to look forward to in 2022?

In this segment, we’ll put the spotlight on the numerous opportunities that have been capitalized during these times of disaster. Moving forward, we will also explore recovery efforts from these disasters and the businesses that have stepped forward to help. Last year has taught us that success in business is no longer just measured by the size of profits in the P&L nor the weight of the asset register book. Who are the front runners and what are the measurements of success moving forward?

We’ll also get the views of Venture Capitalist regarding the attractiveness of investing in particular pockets in the region and the use of technology for solutions we can depend on to get us out of the muck we’re in. Together, we’ll see through their lens on how risk profiles have changed in the different locations regionally and segments they are keeping a close eye on.
